Modified Starches
Cationic Starch
Cationic Starch is a modified starch produced by introducing positively charged functional groups into the starch structure, enabling strong interaction with fibrous and negatively charged surfaces. In paper and cardboard production, it supports bonding between fibers, fillers and fine particles, helping improve surface strength, dry strength, retention and process efficiency. Its homogeneous dispersibility allows easy integration into production systems and, depending on the application, may contribute positively to drainage, retention and final product quality. Cationic Starch can be used as a performance-enhancing additive in paper, cardboard, corrugated board and various industrial formulations. The recommended dosage and process conditions should be determined according to the raw-material properties and desired product performance.
